Just five minutes to go until kick-off at Villa Park, where the Baggies could do the double over their hosts for only the second time in their history. In the reverse fixture this season, West Brom won 1-0 thanks to a Craig Gardner goal as Kieran Richardson was sent off.

West Brom have kept five clean sheets in seven Premier League games under Pulis. But for all their improvement they are yet to win away under the Welshman they are yet to win away since he took over. Can they change that tonight?

Pulis, meanwhile, knows exactly how important this local derby is: "This game is as big as the game against Southampton was on Saturday. It's about three points and it's about local bragging rights too which makes it a bigger game locally. I like Tim. He's a very, very honest, straight-talking chap. There's no fluff surrounding him. He's a good football man, he's worked for some good managers and coaches and has taken lots of good things on board. He is what he is and he'll leave all the jargon to other people."

Villa boss Sherwood insists he could see an improvement in his side's performance against Newcastle: "I was far more encouraged in the Newcastle game than Stoke but that's because I've had more time. Zero points could have easily been six, it could have been four. We have to bounce back and get points as soon as we can."

The teams are in and while Pulis is able to name an unchanged side, his opposite number, Sherwood, has brought in Charles N'Zogbia for his first start of 2015 as he looks to lift Villa out of the relegation zone. Scott Sinclair is the man who drops to the bench.
