Welcome to Manchester United versus Aston Villa at Old Trafford. Another victory today, against an Aston Villa side still fighting in a relegation battle, will see their status in the top four looking more secure than it has all season.

F-T! Manchester United 3-1 Aston Villa. The home side have the win which takes them up to third. It seems more than likely now that they will be back in the Champions League next season.

GOAL! Manchester United 3-1 Aston Villa. That's that then. Ander Herrera with his second, sweeping the ball in from the edge of the box after Mata cut the ball back. Brilliant finish.

There will be four minutes of added time.

Can Aston Villa create another chance?

Aston Villa have a freekick on the left-hand side which Joe Cole whips in but United head away. Di Maria threatens to break clean through on the break but Delph recovers brilliantly to win possession back.

Falcao tries an incredibly speculative volley from the right-hand side of the area. Even in top form that's unlikely to go in. This season? It's shanked straight up into the air and out for a goalkick.

It's all action now as Delph trips di Maria from behind on the halfway line as the Argentine threatened to break away. It's a booking for the England man.

GOAL! Manchester United 2-1 Aston Villa. Evidently not game over. Aston Villa go straight down the other end and win a corner on the left. It falls to just the man Villa would want, Christian Benteke, who slides a low shot towards goal. It squirms under de Gea and in. Terrible goalkeeping.

GOAL! Manchester United 2-0 Aston Villa. Wayne Rooney with a brilliant half-volley into the top left-hand corner after he took one touch to control di Maria's cross and then slammed the ball in with his second. Brilliant. Game over?

A substitution each as Joe Cole comes on for Wiemann and Radamel Falcao for Fellaini.

Bacuna plays an excellent cross into the six-yard box which Okore looks like he may nod home but, under pressure, scuffs his attempt wide.

Aston Villa win a freekick juts outside the area, on the right-hand side, after Wiemann is dragged down by Rojo.
72'
Blind drills another low shot in from 25 yards out which Fellaini tries to divert towards goal with a clever flick. Not clever enough though because it goes wide.
71'
Delph has to use all of his pace to get back and tackle Mata who was in space on the right hand-side of the area. Excellent defensive covering there.

Angel di Maria comes on for Ashley Young, probably the home side's best player today, with 20 minutes still to play.
69'
Carlos Sanchez gives it away to Rooney deep in his own half and the England captain bursts towards the penalty area before knocking a shot wide of the far post with the outside of his boot. Awful play from Sanchez, that could easily have been game over for his team.
67'
Fellaini plays a sideways pass straight out of play and the home fans are not happy. A few bad habits have crept in today.
65'
Herrera gets groaned at by the fans as he plays the ball back to de Gea rather than forward when in space. Manchester United keep possession all the same.
64'
De Gea takes charge as Aston Villa goes long towards Agbonlahor, with the Spaniard charging out of his area and lashing the ball away for a throw-in.
62'
Good save by Guzan after Fellaini nods Velancia's cross down into the ground and towards goal. Sharp reflexes from the American to tip it over but a save he would expect to make.
