Good evening and welcome to live coverage of Stoke against Newscastle in Monday's Premier League clash. An 8pm kick-off in this one. As with every Newcastle match this season, much of the talking surrounding the game focuses solely on manager Alan Pardew. The Magpies boss is under intense scrutiny and is fighting to save his job. Five games without a win has led to fans protesting before, during and after each Newcastle fixture, and this weekend will be no different. And to make matters worse, a report emerged in the small hours of Saturday morning claiming that owner Mike Ashley said he would sack the 53-year-old if the Magpies emerged from their trip to the Britannia Stadium, where they will once again seek a first Premier League win of the campaign, empty-handed.

There goes the final whistle. A 1-0 win for Stoke. Could be the end for Newcastle if owner Mike Ashley makes good on his promise. Said in jest or not.

Begovic showing off his handling skills to grasp the loose cross from Obertan. More decent play by him.

Tiote does well as the last man to make the tackle on Arnautovic as he tried to speed in on goal. Had to get that one spot on.

Ameobi with a strong run and shot, but Whelan scampers back to make the block for Stoke.

The Newcastle fans are horrified by that miss. As is Colback. Just had to score there. Didn't really need to catch the volley so cleanly.

Colback smashes the ball against the bar from five yards out. Great ball by Obertan, but that should have been in the net as he got lucky when the ball broke to him.

Sammy Ameobi replaces Cabella for the visiting side. Last throw of the dice for Pardew. Or something like that.
73'
Newcastle for all their huffing and puffing have only had one shot on target. Which is fairly damning.

Four of Newcastle’s five goals this season have come in the 73rd minute or later. Still plenty of energy left in the legs of both teams here.
