Man City in control here but no real inroads being made.

City do well to stop another Sunderland attack and as Aguero breaks he is felled by Cattermole.

Reveillere swings in a superb cross from the left but there is only Fletcher in the box and it evads him. Decent ball that.

Larsson plays a lovely ball over the top for Buckley but he can't hold his run and is caught offside. Would have been in otherwise.

Vergini does brilliantly down the right and wins a throw for Sunderland. They switch play to Reveillere on the other side.

Fletcher brings the ball down brilliantly and feeds Buckley who tries to give it back to the striker but Toure is there to break up play and get City moving forward.

Hart put under extreme pressure from Buckley and slashes the ball clear. Good pressure from Sunderland.

Cattermole with a vital interception on the six yard box as Jovetic gets in behind but can't find a teammate in the middle.

Bit scrappy in midfield as neither team can get hold of the ball.

Good chance as Buckley gets in behind Clichy at left back and cuts back to Rodwell on the edge of the area but his low shot is superbly saved to Hart's right.

Navas gets down the right wing and smashes a low cross across the face of goal but Jovetic can't get anything on it and it goes out for a goal kick.

Man City with some controlled possession as they look to break Sunderland down but the home side are in shape and keeping them comfortably at bay.

Sunderland with an early free kick as Zabaleta smashes Buckley. Larsson is over it on the left wing. He swings it over but Boyata is up to clear.

And we're underway here at the Stadium of Light as the ref toots his whistle and Man City kick us off.

More good news for Sunderland fans who have seen their side beat Manchester City at the Stadium of Light the last four occasions the champions have come to visit. However Sunderland have not won in their last three home games and have scored just once in that time. Hope for Manchester City...

Sunderland appear to be Manchester City's bogey team. They've lost just once in their last six matches against the current Premier League champions, winning three times.

Two changes as well for the visitors as Man City bring in Dedrick Boyata and Martin Demichelis for the injured duo of Vincent Kompany and Elaquim Mangala.

The home side make two changes from the weekend's impressive draw against Chelsea. Sebastian Coates returns from injury and replaces Wes Brown while Adam Johnson makes way for the fresh legs of Will Buckley on the wing.
