Carroll brings down a high ball with good technique, then battles forward and is tripped by Reveillere. Free kick on the wing for West Ham.

Carroll has gone down clutching his face. Fletcher seems to stick a finger in his eye as he used his hand to push the striker away. He's alright.

Carroll controls a deflected pass from Song, and he tries to curl a shot into the near post, and it's just a yard wide.

Downing floats in a cross that Brown heads behind. It's flapped away by Pantilimon, but he's generously awarded a foul for something imperceptible anyway.

Carroll wins a foul off Wes Brown, who probably could have been booked. Valencia, Sakho and Downing eye up a shot.

A Vergini glancing header takes a touch off a West Ham player and Suderland have another corner. Carroll chests away and Sakho sprints down the left, but he eventually overruns it, but forces Pantilimon into a wild clearance.

Cattermole strides forward and is edged off the ball by Valencia. No free kick. Larsson then wins the ball back and Alvarez finds Fletcher, who lays the ball off for Wickham, and he drills a rising shot towards goal that Adrian does excellently to tip over.

Downing's corner is well taken by Pantilimon.

Wickham is booked for a bit of roughousing on Tomkins.

Nolan is replaced by Valencia.

Downing goes in with a wild hack on Reveillere, and is rightly booked.

Cattermole slices a cross into the arms of Adrian. Kouyate finds Sakho on the left wing, but he's quickly tackled.

Wickham fires a dreadful cross over the bar.
