Hello and welcome to Eurosport's live commentary from Saturday's Premier League fixture between Tottenham and Aston Villa. This is Nick Royle (@nickaroyle) taking you through all the action from White Hart Lane.

Full time at White Hart Lane, and Christian Benteke's goal proves the difference between the sides as Aston Villa beat Tottenham 1-0 to ease their Premier League relegation fears. A huge smile on the face of Tim Sherwood.

Benteke wins the free-kick, holding off Bentaleb and then falling to the floor. That will be it, surely?

Carlos Sanchez gets a second yellow card for a diving challenge on Rose - he will miss the FA Cup semi-final.

Vast swathes of empty seats in White Hart Lane - the Tottenham fans have given up. Rose got a yellow card, by the way.

Lamela gives the ball away and a hugely frustrated Rose goes in late on Delph.

Groans from the Villa end as the fourth official signals five minutes of added-on time. Guzan makes a good save low to his right from an offside Soldado.

Guzan is in trouble after Kane leaves a foot in on the Villa goalkeeper as he clears. The Villa players are unhappy with the challenge. Rightly - it was a little bit late and nasty.

Sanchez wins the ball in midfield and sets free Richardson, who is bundled off the ball and has to hurry back into position.

Villa have been really impressive this last 15 minutes - Sherwood is often portrayed as a tactical dinosaur but he has been spot on this afternoon. Vlaar makes a good challenge in the Villa box to rob Lamela.

Cleverley then wins a corner off Eriksen, who looks very disgruntled at the way the afternoon has turned out.

Tottenham give the ball away to Benteke, and Villa are quite happy to play some keep ball in midfield, then Cole draws the foul from Fazio. Good game management from Villa.

SAVE: Baker makes a great challenge to nick the ball off Kane in midfied. Benteke breaks to set up Delph, who sees his effort saved by Vorm. That was a real chance to wrap up the three points.

CHANCE: Weimann gets clear down the right channel but his shot on the run is weak and easily saved by Vorm.

Villa win a corner through Benteke's power. Vlaar rises well to the deep corner but is unable to steer his header on goal.

More good news for Villa fans, who cheer as they realise Southampton have taken a 2-0 lead over Hull. Hull started the day on 28 points, one behind Villa on 29 points.

Guzan is out sharply to mop up a sliderule pass from Kane towards Lamela in the right channel.

Probert shows a yellow card to Benteke for trying to block a Tottenham free-kick.

Yedlin is quick, very quick. Villa will need to provide cover for Richardson to arrest the threat down the Tottenham right.

Two changes for Tottenham. Lamela and Yedlin for Townsend and Chiriches.

Sloppy play from Villa in midfield - they are looking leggy and tired after working so hard for so long.
