Welcome to West Brom versus Aston Villa at The Hawthorns, a West Midlands derby at the wrong end of the Premier League table. Back-to-back wins, and maybe also the depature of Roy Keane, have lifted the mood at Villa, who have now moved up to 11th. West Brom's form is a lot more alarming, however, with just one win in nine matches and one point taken from their last five games. A win today would ease the immediate pressure and earn them a some local pride in the process.

F-T! West Brom 1-0 Aston Villa. It's all over and West Brom have their win. It was former Villa man Craig Gardner with the scrappy goal, in a scrappy game, after the visitors had played with 10 men since the 22nd minute. A big win for West Brom and Alan Irvine, too.
90+4'
Gardner is booked for handling the ball on the floor as Villa look to attack one last time.
90+3'
It's a real chance for Villa in the final moments. The ball falls loose to Benteke on the edge of the area, but the striker's shot veers wide of goal. He should have done so much better.
90+1'
Lescott shows excellent composure and strength to steer the ball out of play as Weimann tried to cross. It's greeted by a big cheer from the home fans.
89'
There will be four minutes of added time.
87'
Berahino is so wasteful. Ideye is in so much space on the right-hand side of the box as West Brom break. Instead, he tries to beat three men himself and loses the ball. Alan Irvine shakes his head.
85'
Sessegnon commits three Villa players before winning a throw-in near the right corner flag. Excellent play from the Beninese attacker.
83'
West Brom started this game just one point above the relegation zone. A win here would be a massive boost for the home side.
81'
Foster smiles but Villa are making West Brom sweat. Delph hits a swerving volley from long-range that bounces awkwardly in front of the England international. He palms it away towards Benteke but the striker is offside and the Baggies survive.
79'
Villa so close to an equaliser! The freekick is played towards Clark, who heads the ball on at the second attempt to Benteke. The Belgian flicks out his foot and prods the ball inches wide and the home fans breath again.

It's a double substitution for Villa, as Sanchez and Cissokho are replaced by Weimann and Vlaar.

Varela is the latest player to be booked, tripping Delph as the midfielder broke into the West Brom half.
75'
Delph drives powerfully towards goal from 25 yards out but it's straight at Ben Foster and a comfortable save.
73'
Gardner, who is a Birmingham fan, was not interested in a muted celebration against his former side.

GOAL! West Brom 1-0 Aston Villa. It's a scrappy, scrappy goal but it's Craig Gardner with it against his former side. Guzan fails to deal with a ball into the box, and after the first loose ball is blocked, Gardner is on hand, eight yards out, to lash the ball into the unguarded net.

Berahino is finally on, replacing Graham Dorrans.
69'
Then, of course, Sessegnon has a shot from a central position, 20 yards from goal. It's not a very good shot, though, bouncing into Guzan's arms.
68'
The home fans are getting restless and it's hard to blame them. Villa have rarely been stretched out of their shape as West Brom only seem happy to attack from wide positions.

Hutton is booked for hacking at Pocognoli's ankle when the ball was gone. Another clear booking. The resultant freekick is comfortably claimed by Guzan.
64'
Brown Ideye has his best sight of goal so far, but he lashes his shot from Pocognoli's cross well over the bar.
