TEAM NEWS
Chelsea to follow...
Swansea manager Garry Monk has a fully-fit squad to choose from. Bafetimbi Gomis has been troubled by a hamstring injury but the French striker played in Swansea's final pre-season game against Deportivo La Coruna last weekend and reported no reaction. Ghana forward Andre Ayew is poised to make his debut against the champions following his move from Marseille, but fellow summer signings Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Franck Tabanou and Eder could all start on the bench.
MANAGER QUOTES
Jose Mourinho: to follow..
Garry Monk: "We conceded nine against them last year, which wasn't good enough at all. There weren't many times I could say I was gutted with a performance but the one at home was one of them. But Jose is tactically one of the best managers in the league. He's very clever in his approach, his team is so adaptable in playing different ways and brilliant to watch. They've set the standard for everyone and when I come up against Jose I know I'm in for an interesting afternoon."
MATCH FACTS
In 23 Premier League seasons, the defending champion has never lost their opening game (winning 20 and drawing three).
Swansea have scored as many goals in their last three season openers (8) as they did in the previous nine games combined.
Chelsea have won 14 and lost none of their last 16 Premier League fixtures on the opening weekend. The Blues haven’t lost a season opener since 1998/99 vs Coventry City.
Chelsea are unbeaten in 12 opening day matches at Stamford Bridge, last losing to Blackburn in 1993 (W10 D2).
Swansea have lost all four Premier League trips to Stamford Bridge to date.
Diego Costa has scored more PL goals against Swansea than any other player (5) despite only playing twice against the Welsh side.
18% of the goals conceded by Garry Monk’s side in the top-flight last term came against the Blues (9/49).
Cesc Fabregas has reached 10 assists in five of his last six Premier League campaigns (he got eight in 22 appearances in 2008/09).
John Terry has never been substituted off in the Premier League by Jose Mourinho (175 starts, completed 90 minutes 174 times and been sent off once).

WHEN IS THE MATCH?
Saturday 8th August - 17:30pm kick-off (UK time).
WHERE IS THE MATCH BEING PLAYED?
WHY IS IT WORTH FOLLOWING?
Chelsea are the team to beat this season and Jose Mourinho will want to get off to a strong start, just as he did last season - especially after a disappointing performance in their Community Shield defeat to Arsenal. Swansea will not only provide formidable opposition, but hopefully plenty of goals, too - Chelsea won this fixture 4-2 in the 2014/15 campaign.
New signings who could appear in the game include Radamel Falcao for the Blues and Andre Ayew, Franck Tabanou and Eder for the Swans.
CAN I WATCH IT ON TV?
Yes - it will be shown live on Sky Sports, with coverage beginning at 17:00 - half an hour before kick-off. Further details can be found here.
International viewers can see their viewing options here.
