Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Swansea. The big team news is the inclusion of Diego Costa from the start, despite those fears about his hamstring injury.

A terrible Matic cross and Swansea break. Ayew loses possession and now both sides are just running into one another and kicking each other and the ball. It is fantastic, and now Eder wins a free kick on the left wing.

That's full time. An increasingly lethargic Chelsea look despondent as they realise they actually have to try to reach the level they started the season with, not the level they ended with. Swansea will be wondering what they might have achieved had Montero stayed on the pitch. Chelsea are now bullying the referee. Plus ca change.

Falcao's broken again. Wait, it's Hazard - I just assumed.

Chelsea head away a Swansea corner and Falcao and Hazard team up to break. Hazard is clattered over by Williams, who gets himself a booking for a cynical challenge.

There will be four minutes of added time, and Terry concedes a foul just inside his own half. Shelvey takes short, rolling to his left.

Costa is nudged over by Williams when almost through on goal, it seems, but the referee waves for play to continue.

Falcao's scuffed effort, falling as he shoots, is easily saved.

Taylor rolls a ball for Routledge that he's not expecting and Chelsea attack with Hazard. His one-two with Costa sends him a little wide, and Ivanovic is tackled after not crossing quickly, and he absolutely fumes nobody warned him to hurry up.

Sigurdsson blocks Hazard's run as he knocks the ball past him, and concedes a free kick 35 yards out. Matic takes to the back post, and Fabianski claims safely at the second attempt, flapping at it on the first.

Falcao on for Willian.

Another change for Chelsea soon.

Swansea are sitting deep, but now they have chance to break. Shelvey play the ball right,as does Eder, now to Ayew, and his curling shot from the right is saved by Begovic.

Eder is on for Gomis.

There's still a ramshackle quality to Swansea at time that should give Chelsea hope.

Gomis is one on one with the 'keeper, but he's offside again. Chelsea are still in the game.

Fabregas is on in place of Zouma.

Routledge receives a pass from Shelvey and he takes the ball into the box, trying to find room for a shot, and Begovic has to leap to left to save his shot.

Chelsea win a throw high up the pitch on the left. Azpilicueta takes, hurling it high into the box, and Shelvey, Routledge and Taylor combine to clear.

Montero is replaced by Routledge.

Montero is down with cramp, which seems to be a trendsetting injury of the day. He managed to spark it off when he and Willian challenged for a high ball.

Swansea have a goal disallowed. Montero swings in a low cross along the box, and Gomis is slightly offside as he taps in at the back post.
