Hello and welcome to Eurosport's live commentary for Tuesday's Premier League match between Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. This is Nick Royle (@nickaroyle) taking you through all the action from Villa Park.

That;s the final whistle, and Aston Villa finally have their first home win of the Premier League season. Joleon Lescott netted the only goal of the game just before the hour, and Remi Garde's side nervously managed to close out the game to the joy, and relief, of the Holte End.

Dann, playing up front now, cannot control and another Palace chance goes begging,

Villa are wasting time after winning a corner..things are very nervy here at Villa Park.

Ciaran Clark replaces Gil for the three minutes of injury-time.

Cabaye threads the ball to Chamakh, but the former Arsenal striker is flagged offside. But the replays say the Moroccan was onside.

Zaha overdoes it and runs out of room down the line and Villa have a very welcome goal-kick.

Jedinak crosses and Dann sees his header sail over the Villa bar.

Villa are clinging on in the final minutes. Remi Garde looks a nervous man in his technical area...

Chamakh have a free-kick as Zaha is fouled down the right. Cabaye's free-kick is headed away by Lescott and then cleared by Westwood.

CHANCE: Gil breaks down the left after Souare slips, Ayew bursts between two defenders and his shot squirts JUST wide.

Villa have a throw, and Dann comes back into the centre-half possession after playing up front for the last few minutes.

Pardew is again furious, as Puncheon again loses possession in midfield.

OFF THE LINE: Okore clears Wickham's glancing near-post header off his own line with a crucial header.

Another late offside flag against Kozak, who again strays as he runs onto a Westwood pass. Pardew is furious at how lax his defenders have been.

Ward gets a yellow for a late tackle on Ayew, then Gueye gets a yellow for bundling over Chamakh.

Mile Jedinak replaces McArthur in the Palace midfield, to add some bite to Pardew's midfield.

Kozak is flagged offside but drags his shot off target anyway. The Villa striker has looked off the pace tonight - unsurprisingly, as this is his first start for over two years.

Palace really cannot get any fluency going tonight - and there is more frustration as Gil wins a free-kick as Villa break.

Bacuna nicks the ball off Zaha in the Villa box and the home side can break through Westwood.

Villa Park is far from a sell-out tonight. There are around 3,000 Palace fans in the crowd of 28, 245.
