Good evening and welcome to LIVE text coverage of a rather rare occasion, a Friday night Premier League fixture that pits Aston Villa against Manchester United. The match was moved due to an English Defence League march planned in the Villa Park area later this weekend. It provides both sides with a chance to top the league tonight after they each won their respective opening games by a 1-0 scoreline.

Januzaj becomes the first Manchester United player to score in this Premier League season, as Kyle Walker made an own goal in their season opener against Spurs.

GOAL! Januzaj rewards his manager for giving him his chance by firing United into the lead. Mata slips an incisive pass into Januzaj on the left of the area, who cuts inside past Richards and slots a deflected low shot into the far corner.
28'
Januzaj looks to change that by raking a cross from the right towards Depay who can't quite stretch enough to get his header anywhere near the target.
27'
Both sides still struggling to make any real inroads on goal.
26'
PEDRO ALERT for United fans. The Barca forward starts for the Catalans in the Spanish Super Cup clash with Bilbao tonight... Will he stay or will he go?
24'
Another set piece for United catches Villa at sixes and sevens in their own area, but again the Red Devils can't take advantage.
23'
Back up the other end and Villa are caught out on the right of their area, but Depay can't punish them as his right foot shot drags harmlessly wide of the near post.
22'
Idrissa Gueye glides in from the left and fools two defenders with a lovely turn before seeing his attempted pass into the area cut out. Unlucky for Villa.

Not many shots so far, so here's some passing numbers via Squawka...United shading it with 10 more than Villa.

Great goalkeeping from Guzan. The Villa stopper comes flying out of his area to deny Depay a clear route to goal after a clearance fortuitously ricocheted into the forward's path.
18'
Depay looking one of the more dangerous players thus far. But that's not really saying much!
17'
Villa were caught napping there. Poor defensive line with little communication it seems. It's a let off for the hosts, that's for sure.
16'
CLOSE! Depay curves a lovely ball to the far post where there is no Villa player in sight! Morgan Schneiderlin arrives late but can't divert his header on target as the ball skips awkwardly up off the turf.
15'
Free kick to United on the left flank around 35 yards out.
14'
Mata looks to step it up a gear but his probing pass is just too long for Memphis Depay who gives him a look and a small nod of approval.
13'
Villa's in-house media team take to their Official Twitter feed to state they are content with what they have seen so far...
12'
United with no players in the Villa half at one point there. When they do win it back Carrick can't find Januzaj and it rolls out for a throw. Not much to write home about so far!
11'
Lots of high tempo and solid work ethic in midfield - but little in terms of quality in the final third so far.
10'
Excluding Easter and Christmas/New Year fixtures, this is the first Friday night Premier League game since Arsenal's 5-0 win over Leeds United back on April 16th 2004.

Fine defending by Luke Shaw after a dangerous move down the right almost saw Villa get in behind through Jordan Veretout. Nice ball from Scott Sinclair in the build up too.
