Southampton failed to create a serious chance in the second half until the last minute, but Pardew's side were defensively sound as well as threatening in attack throughout.

Shane Long breaks free down the right, unmarked, and faces down Hennessey. It sits up for him, and he strikes it straight at Hennessey in goal.

Palace scramble to clear as Mane tries to flick the ball forward, and Pelle then hooks a ball back into the box, which is collected and the danger passes.

Gazzaniga has another save. Bolasie volleys towards goal from the right, well caught, but the 'keeper's strong wrist keeps it out of goal.

Wickham controls a diagonal pass forward, he cushions it well as he coves into the box, and Gazzaniga leaps down to his right to push his shot wide of the near post.

Cabaye wastes space for a shot on the right of the pitch, as he advances towards the box, and it's easily saved.

Bolasie keeps hold of the ball well on the right wing until Mane fouls him out of frustration.

Gazzaniga chases a backpass to the goal-line as it spins away from him, but he's back without a heart attack. Now Mutch is on for Puncheon.
