Here’s a bit of a crazy stat for you. Jurgen Klopp’s side have allowed every Premier League opponent they have faced in 2016 to score with their first attempt on target! (Congratulations on that new contract by the way Simon Mignolet.)

Liverpool are on odd side. They’ve produced moments of brilliance this season, seem to have unearthed a bit of a gem in Roberto Firmino and have a manager who is capable of taking them back to the top table. However, they also conceded four goals to Norwich in their last league game. Any team who manages to concede that many goals against the Canaries must be fearing the worst went faced with the prospect of Vardy and Mahrez and co.

Leicester's ground-staff really enjoy their day job...

Leicester City have only lost two games all season.
I’ll repeat that, because it really doesn’t sound right...
Leicester City have only lost two games all season!
However, one of those defeats came against tonight’s opponents Liverpool, when a Christian Benteke goal on Boxing Day was enough to separate the two sides.

This fixture is the start of a three-game stretch that could dispel any lingering doubts over whether Leicester are genuine title challengers or not. After tonight the Foxes have back-to-back away trips to their two nearest challengers in the league – Manchester City and Arsenal. If Claudio Ranieri and his boys are still top in two weeks’ time then we’ve really got a shock on our hands!

And Liverpool are back at full-strength after sending out a second string in the FA Cup.
