Hello and welcome to our LIVE text commentary of Leicester's crucial clash with Newcastle from the King Power Stadium. The Foxes STILL lead the way, and are nine games from making history. A win tonight will see Claudio Ranieri's men open up a five point lead at the top. Down the other end, Newcastle have had a quiet week, with just the small matter of Rafael Benitez being appointed, tasked with steering the Magpies out of the relegation zone. I'm Pete Hall (@PeteHall86), and I will be bringing you the action, as it happens, live!

Another game, more defiance from Leicester. The fairy tale goes on. All it needed was one acrobatic strike from Shinji Okazaki, from the hosts' only shot on target. Claudio Ranieri's men are now five clear at the summit, 11 clear of Arsenal in third. Newcastle remain in the bottom three, but the performance at the King Power will have pleased Rafael Benitez, as they are somewhat unfortunate to be heading north pointless. Thanks for joining us. Full report and reaction to follow on site. Goodbye.

CHANCE! Great ball into the middle from Jamaat, Mitrovic lays the ball off for De Jong, who scuffs straight at Schmeichel. Better connection and that could have been an equaliser.

Shelvey concedes a free-kick to buy some more time. Can they hold on here? Newcastle still attacking in numbers.

Better cross from Townsend, but Mitrovic can't turn the ball goalwards.

BLOCK! Sissoko volleys at goal, seems to be heading for the top corner, but the ball cannons out off Huth, who doesn't even budge.
80'
Elliot drops a long throw into the box, but he gets lucky, and can turn and snatch the ball at the second attempt.

Great defending again from the hosts. Newcastle's delivery has been below par, but the Foxes are not giving them an inch.

Newcastle still working to try and create that chance, but Kante is everywhere. Leicester still with just the one shot on target.

Kante again across to make the interception. How does he manage to keep going???
71'
That's the end of Perez's game, as he is replaced by Siem de Jong.

Great football from Newcastle up until the final pass. If they can find their man, Leicester have real problems.
