Hello and welcome to our LIVE text commentary of the 226th Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton from Anfield. The Stanley Park neighbours face off once again, but this time with plenty of distractions in the air. Everton have Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United to consider, while the red half of Merseyside are preparing for a Europa League last four encounter. As always in these feisty derby affairs, the fans will soon remind the players of the occasion this evening. I'm Pete Hall (@PeteHall86) and I will be bringing you the action, as it happens, live!

RED CARD! Funes Mores gets a straight red card here! He did catch Origi with his studs up, but not sure that warranted a straight red card!

Moreno takes a thwack from Oviedo, but the referee keeps his cards in his pocket.

Everton need a response. This is not over yet, but the Toffees need a goal quickly.

Everton get us back under way. One change for the Toffees with Muhamed Besic replacing Gareth Barry.

He really has played his part, but has been allowed to do so by his markers.

Too easy for LIverpool at the end of the half. After Origi had opened the scoring, James Milner plays a lovely one-two, clips the ball to the back-post, where Mamadou Sakho is waiting to head home from two yards, unmarked. The Toffees held their own for most of the half, but once again defensive frailties have let them down at the crucial moment.

GOAL! LIverpool 2-0 Everton. Another goal, another header. Sakho this time converts from a few yards to double Liverpool's advantage.

Coutinho carries it forward on the break, feeds Origi, whose pull-back is poor and easilly cleared.

Two minutes of added time here...

Goal came out of nothing really. Milner twisted and turned to make space for the cross, lofted an innocuous-looking ball into the box, Robles stays on his line, allowing Origi to leap highest and guide a header into the top corner.

GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Everton. In his first Merseyside derby, Origi heads the hosts in front.

Short free-kick is pulled back to Nathaniel Clyne, but Mirallas charges it down brilliantly.

Another tangle of legs leads to the game's next booking, with Aaron Lennon guilty of bringing down Milner.

What crisis?
39'
Great play from Origi to make space for a shot at goal out of nothing, but that is easy for Robles to smother.
38'
Liverpool have had the lion's share of possession, 14 shots at goal, but crucially no goals. Will they live to regret not taking advantage of their dominance?
36'
Vital touch from Moreno as Barkley carried the ball forward with confidence. Could have been a penalty if the full-back had got it wrong.
35'
Both sides guilty of giving the ball away far too much at the moment. Still very much end-to-end.
34'
Divock Origi gets inside Oviedo, but his touch lets him down at the vital time. Looked to be offside.
