That's ridiculous. Another example of the woeful standard of refereeing in the Premier League, and football generally. City shoud have had a penalty after 90 minutes of slogging against a disciplined Everton. City should have three points, and were the more dangerous team, but it ends goalless.

PENALTY! NO! Stones slides in on Sterling as he drives to the byline. It's obvious a penalty, he cleans him out, and Sterling doesn't even appeal. What a terrible decision not to award it.

Aguero goes over Stones' leg outside the box, and the ref gives nothing. The crowd want a penalty but it's all underwhelming.

Everton scramble the corner clear and they'll be looking to keep things level for the next minute or so now.

Sagna bundles over Pienaar on the very edge of the left wing, in line with the area. Baines will take. Nothing from it.

Silva's corner cleared. Aguero finds Navas, but Besic clears his effort too.

Gael Clichy lifts a ball into the centre of the box for Silva, but he sticks a ball well over the bar.

Sterling cuts onto his right but his shot is blocked. Then De Bruyne has room from miles out and blast is over. He's then replaced by Silva.

Sergio Aguero is behind the defence but Howard rushes out to make himself big and beat the shot away.

A little over 20 minutes for one or both of these sides to blink.

Howard sticks out a leg to clear a cross from the right. The pressure is growing on Everton.

Sterling drives into the box, beats three men for pace while making the angle tighter and tighter, but his shot is saved by an outstretched Howard leg. City then win a corner.

De Bruyne's corner is cleared. Toure takes the ball, City watch Everton sink back.
