Mata finds Darmian, and the cross is just over Rooney at the back post. Januzaj went down under a heavy challenge earlier, but is up again now.

Memphis is clearly blocked on the corner of the box, and the referee gives nothing. Poor decision.

Perez's shot is deflected into the air, looping towards Obertan. Romero rushes out to cover, and is well short of doing so - luckily for the 'keeper, Obertan is offside.

United have slowed the place right down now, and Newcastle have weathered the initial storm.

Darmian covers and sets Mata free down the right. Schneiderlin tries to switch play to the left, but Obertan intercepts.

Memphis has a cross blocked by Colback, and he then drags the Newcastle defender down as he attempts to recover.

Schweinsteiger is limping at the moment. A hero's return for Carrick?

Obertan's cross is blocked by Blind, giving Newcastle a corner on the right wing. The second ball into the box is glanced well wide by Mitrovic.

Januzaj springs Memphis free past the defence, but his heavy touch means he has to round the keeper, and his pullback is cut out.

Mata tries to slide Rooney into the box down the inside right, but it's just ahead of him and out for a goalkick.

Mbemba's cross from deep finds Mitrovic and his excellent header beats Romero, but crashes against the crossbar.

Memphis skips into the box as he skins the full back, tries to curl into the top corner, but he slides the shot straight at Krul.

Wijnaldum bursts into the box and lunges towards Blind as he puts his foot through it. He catches him with a late tackle, and is booked.

Newcastle are having a bit more of the ball now. And now Darmian fouls again, this time on Haidara on the left, and he's booked.

Mata cuts in on the left, in the box, and he drills a shot at the near post, but Krul dives smartly to his left to save.

Januzaj has 400 yards of space down the right, and Taylor cuts out his poor cross for a throw on the left.

United win a corner on the right wing. Memphis curls a ball into the box at the near post, and it is back out to Mata. He slides in Memphis again, and Haidara slides in to block the cross.

Mata curls a shot over the wall, but it's too slow to trouble Krul, though it was on taret.

Darmian has room on the right, and drives towards goal. He's hacked down just outside the box, 25 yards out, to the right of goal.
