Nacer Chadli's making some intelligent runs here. Almost in behind the United defence twice. Not impressing at the back Louis Van Gaal's side so far.

Darmian with a surging run down the right hand touchline but his cross is easy enough for Vorm. A lot of this game being played in the middle of the park so far.

CLOSE! Wonderful build up play from Spurs. Harry Kane turns provider, scooping the ball over the top of the United defence and an onrushing Christian Eriksen lobs his effort onto the roof of the net.

Some things to take away from that team news. Namely that Man United's big name summer signing - in more ways than one - Bastian Schweinsteiger - is only fit enough for a place on the bench. Debuts though for Mateo Darmian, Sergio Romero and Memphis Depay, while David De Gea is indeed not selected as Louis Van Gaal had intimated. For Spurs, Hugo Lloris is deemed fit enough for the bench despite a reported broken wrist in pre-season with Michel Vorm deputising.
