It's full-time at St James' Park. What a huge win for Newcastle and Steve McClaren as Jurgen Klopp is dealt his first away defeat as Liverpool boss.

GOAL! Newcastle 2-0 Liverpool. And that is that! Newcastle counter with Sissoko and the Frenchman slides a pass through to Wijnaldum, who coolly dinks the ball over the onrushing Mignolet. St James' Park erupts.

There's a bit of head tennis as Liverpool launch balls towards the Newcastle penalty area and the home side clear. Not long now...

Skrtel goes down after a clash with Coloccini as it's confirmed that there will be five additional minutes at St James' Park.

CHANCE: Another bad miss for Lovren. Newcastle clear Moreno's initial corner but Liverpool keep the ball and the Croatian meets his left-back's pinpoint cross with a firm contact, but his effort is straight at Elliot.

Lallana floats another cross into the box from the right and Sissoko heads it out for a corner. Newcastle under relentless pressure...

CHANCE: Elliot rushes out but fails to claim a Moreno corner but Lovren can only direct his header well over. Bad miss.

Liverpool are dominating possession and territory against an increasingly tired Newcastle now, but still don't look like making a breakthrough...

Final change for Newcastle as Florian Thauvin replaces Papiss Cisse.

Lallana curls a cross to the back post where Clyne has ghosted in, but the right-back can't rise high enough to keep the ball in play under pressure from the diligent Ayoze.

DISALLOWED: Milner picks out Moreno with a brilliant crossfield pass and the Spaniard sends a looping volley over Elliot into the net, only for his joy to be curtailed by the linseman's flag. Replays show he was on. Controversial.

Dummett halts another Clyne surge down the right with a thumping but fair challenge that sends the ball spinning out of play.

Jack Colback leaves the field to appreciative applause from St James' Park and Yoann Gouffran comes on.

CHANCE: Lallana slides Sturridge through with a wonderful pass but the former Chelsea man skews a right-footed shot well wide from the angle. In other news, Divock Origi has replaced Jordon Ibe in Liverpool's final substitution.

Sturridge lets fly from all of 30 yards and curls the ball well wide.

Sturridge picks up the ball some 30 yards out and, in the absence of passing options, tries to tempt Anita into a foul, but Marriner waves away his protests.

Sissoko leads a rapid Newcastle counter and picks out Wijnaldum, who exchanges passes with Ayoze before giving the ball away to the dismay of the home crowd.

GOAL! Newcastle 1-0 Liverpool. He's been the outstanding player on the pitch and now Wijnaldum has given his side a vital lead, controlling a Sissoko cross, jinking past Lovren and firing a shot that cannons off Skrtel and into the net. Possibly an own goal but the Dutchman made it happen.

Newcastle make their first change as Ayoze Perez, last season's match-winner, comes on for the exhausted Siem de Jong.

The pace is dropping but not the commitment levels and Dummett prompts a fresh roar from St James' Park when he hammers the ball off Sturridge out of play.
