GOAL! Newcastle 6-2 Norwich City. It's a fourth for Wijnaldum and a goal fit to end any match. The Dutchman cuts in from the left and unleashes a shot from 25 yards that catches a kind deflection off the outstretched leg of Whittaker and flies into Ruddy's top corner.

Double change for Norwich as Cameron Jerome and Gary O'Neil come on for Graham Dorrans and Martin Olsson.

Newcastle threaten on the break again and Bassong is forced to clear a dangerous Mitrovic cross with Wijnaldum lurking.

It's been a masterful performance from Sissoko. Why can't he do this more often?

More goalkeeper woe for Newcastle as Elliot is forced to receive lengthy treatment after finding himself on the receiving end of a Bassong elbow as the pair tussled for the ball in the air.

Sissoko surges forward on the left and tries to twist Whittaker in knots but the Scot manages to get a toe to the ball and knock it away.

Howson launches another shot from long range but it's straight down the throat of Elliot.

Norwich City lay siege to the Newcastle box but their spell of pressure ends with a speculative low Brady shot that Elliot comfortably blocks.

CHANCE: Mbokani gets his head to a Brady cross and the ball cannons off the onrushing Elliot before flying out of play.

Historic times for Newcastle...

CHANCE: Alex Neil's men will not give up and the excellent Redmond gathers the ball in on the corner of the area before unleashing a low shot that crashes off the foot of Elliot's far post.

Further misery for Norwich City as Anthony Taylor showcases his long memory by going back and booking Dorrans for a foul on Perez in the build-up to Newcastle's fifth goal.

GOAL! Newcastle 5-2 Norwich City. Steve McClaren can surely breathe easily now as Wijnaldum completes his hat-trick, laying the ball wide for Janmaat before meeting his countryman's perfect cross with a firm header past Ruddy.
