He has been, well, key - pun intended...

HT: Swansea 1-0 Watford. A little worrying for the hosts as the goalscorer Ashley Williams hobbles off, but the skipper's excellent header is the difference here. Watford have offered very little in the final third, and need to get the ball into their front two much more accurately. Comfortable so far for Alan Curtis in his final match in sole charge.

First Watford shot comes in from Jurado after Deeney's lay-off, but that is straight at Lukasz Fabianski. One minute of added time...

Free-kick for Watford - chance to get it in the mixing pot - but again the delivery is poor, and Swansea clear.
42'
Chaos in the Watford box. Britton bundles his way through, Gomes tries to gather but looses control of it, Routledge hammers it back across, but Nathan Ake blocks and heads clear.

Really was perfect...

Deeney has Watford's first real effort at goal, but after bringing the ball down well, he cannot keep his half volley down.

Not a good omen: Ashley Williams scored his third Premier League goal and his first since 22 March 2014. In both previous matches he scored, Swansea lost.

Ighalo's touch again lets him down after a mistake from Ki let the Watford hitman in, allowing Taylor to get back and sweep up.

Nyom can only clear a cross to Ki on the edge of the box, he lines one up, but blasts well over the top. Had time to measure it up.

Series of Swansea free-kicks in dangerous positions are only just cleared by the Hornets' backline. They will want half-time here.
34'
Swansea look like a rejuvenated side after that goal. Watford cannot get hold of the ball.

Taylor darts down the left, and is brought down by Nyom on the edge of the box, earning the Watford man a yellow card.

A rare occurrence...

65% possession for the hosts as they have been completely dominant. Watford were poor at Southampton last time out, and they have not improved a great deal here...

Hymns and Arias ring around the stadium as the home fans celebrate. First goal was always going to be key, but can they build on their lead?

What a time for the captain to score his first goal of the season! After staying up from a set piece, he found space in the box and expertly guided a header past Gomes. Ki had too much time to get the cross into the box, however.

GOAL! Swansea 1-0 Watford. Ashley Williams heads in from a pinpoint cross from Ki to give the hosts the lead.
26'
Ayew does really well to make space for the shot after a one-two on the edge of the box, but he scuffs it a little, and Gomes saves easily.
24'
Very scrappy. Neither side are keeping hold of the ball in attacking areas. Wasteful.

First booking of the match for Jose Jurado for a late lunge on Routledge.
