Lamela overruns the ball and concedes a foul as he panics, but Spurs swiftly win the ball back.

Puncheon swings in a free kick from the right which glances off Sako and out for a throw in on the left.

Lamela spins left, has room for a shot from outside the box, and McCarthy does well to palm it away. It's just kept away from Kane, following up, but he's in an offside position anyway.

A largely uneventful game so far.

Delaney is able to continue.

Son's shot flicks off a defender to dribble diagonally towards Lamela, and he lets it drift out for a corner on the right. Lamela takes, it bounces at the post, but is eventually cleared.

Delaney heads the free kick, aimed towards Kane, out for a throw in.

Yet more Spurs. Kane is fouled on the left wing by Kelly, giving Spurs a free kick about 40 yards out, just to the left of the box. Lamela will take.

Dele Alli advances forward but Hangeland again makes an interception.

Spurs have had most of the ball so far, and they're moving it about quickly enough, but haven't really done anything with it.

Nothing happens.

More Spurs possession, briefly ended when Hangeland tackles and sends the ball out for a throw.

The corner comes straight to Harry Kane, unmarked, and his heads powerfully over the bar.

Dier and Spurs continue in possession, and Son takes a touch inside, and his shot from distance is deflected for a corner on the left.

Spurs get started, and they have at least held on for the first 33 seconds.

Palace will be optimistic of continuing their good form. There's no recognised striker, though Bakary Sako is the obvious threat in the traditional manner.

It's a strong Spurs side despite Eriksen being on the bench. Son, Chadli and Lamela are lining up behind Kane to see if they can get him scoring more regularly.

Pochettino says of Spurs' tough coming week: "They're three tough games, that is true, but I'm not scared. It is not a problem in that we are convinced we can do well. We just have to prepare and then play. We hope there is no effect and hope to do better this season. We can also recall players like (Ryan) Mason, (Mousa) Dembele and (Christian) Eriksen. As you say, it's a really tough week against big clubs, but we are happy with them. Our squad now is deeper."
