Spurs enjoying the better of the early exchanges, but both sides still feeling each other out.

Mark Hughes: "It is always important to get points on the board. We had two great performances against Spurs last season, beating them twice, so we'd love to replicate that again."

Mauricio Pochettino: "It's true the last two games that we played at White Hart Lane and the Britannia Stadium we lost, but it's a good opportunity to take our revenge. It's a different season, we're happy with our performance - disappointed with the result - against Manchester United but I think the way we played, our performance was good. We need to show on Saturday that we deserved more."

Stoke are unchanged, with new signing Xherdan Shaqiri not registered in time for the match following his sensational arrival from Inter. What a signing that was and what a shame he can't play today.

Tottenham make two changes from the side which lost to United with Hugo Lloris returning in goal in place of Michel Vorm and Ryan Mason replacing Nabil Bentaleb after his careless performance at Old Trafford.

Both sides were on the losing side on the first weekend of the new season with Tottenham going down 1-0 at Manchester United and Stoke losing 1-0 at home to Liverpool. Narrow defeats though, and both will be up for today.
