Heurelho Gomes was Watford's other hero as he saved two second-half penalties in a 1-0 win at West Brom, with the unfortunate Saido Berahino missing both spot kicks.
Gomes had been in fine form all afternoon, producing smart saves to twice thwart Stephane Sessegnon in the first half and acrobatically deny Gareth McAluey shortly after half-time.
But the Brazilian saved his best work to torment Saido Berahino. First he made amends for his own error by diving to his right to beat away the West Brom striker's first penalty after 67 minutes and then repeated the feat 20 minutes later, launching himself the other way to palm away the spot-kick.
His heroics ensured that Ben Watson's 27th-minute goal would be enough for Watford to earn all three points and record only a third victory in their last 16 Premier League outings.

KEY STATS

This was Watford’s first league win over WBA in 16 attempts (W1 D7 L8) and their first league win over them since February 1995; a game that also ended 1-0 to the Hornets at the Hawthorns.
Ben Watson (2) is only the third player to have scored more than one goal for Watford in the Premier League this season.

This was the first time that Watford led a Premier League match at half-time since 20th December 2015 (v Liverpool) – 16 games ago.
Of goalkeepers to have faced 20+ pens in the PL, Heurelho Gomes (32.0%) has the best save percentage, just ahead of David Seaman (31.8%).
Gomes is the only goalkeeper to have saved more than one penalty in the Premier League this season (3).

Gomes is the first player in Premier League history to save two penalties in a Premier League game on two separate occasions (also did this for Spurs v Sunderland in April 2010).
Saido Berahino became only the fourth player to miss two penalties in a single Premier League match and the first since Darren Bent in April 2010 – which was also versus Heurelho Gomes.
Before this match, Berahino had scored all five of his penalties in the Premier League for West Brom.
Watford have now won twice as many Premier League away games this season (6) as they did in their previous two Premier League seasons combined (3).
