Sergio Aguero and Nolito scored twice as Manchester City defeated Stoke City 4-1 to make it two wins from two in the Premier League.
Aguero again handed victory to City, scoring twice in the first half. Mike Dean correctly awarded a penalty for holding in the box, for Aguero to convert, and he then headed his team two ahead. Bojan pulled one back in the second half, before two late Nolito goals secured the points.
Aguero has taken his tally to six for the season already, and City are on equal points with their rivals for the Premier League, Manchester United, who beat Southampton 2-0 on Friday night.

City have had a perfect start so far, and we at least now know that Guardiola can do it on a windy day in Stoke.

TALKING POINT

Should Stoke have had a potentially crucial penalty? If it had been converted, it would have reduced the deficit to a single goal and put pressure on a scruffy City side. Mike Dean, however, ignored the obvious foul from Aleksandr Kolarov, letting them off the hook.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City): The penalty wasn’t anything special, but the glancing header from De Bruyne’s cross was. Already, Aguero appears to be even more dangerous than he was last season. He has to stay fit if this City side are to achieve anything under Guardiola, though it seems Kelechi Iheanacho and Nolito are able to step up more effectively this year.

90+5’ - GOAL! Stoke City 1-4 Manchester City. Nolito scores - a curled ball towards Iheanacho is left by the striker. It runs to Sterling, through on goal, but even easier than scoring himself is to roll it on for Nolito for another open goal.
