Hull City - Arsenal live updates

Arsene Wenger's side are unbeaten in their last 25 Premier League games against newly-promoted sides since a defeat at QPR in March 2012 (W21, D4).

The two sides have met in the FA Cup in each of the last three seasons, with Arsenal winning all three ties - including the 2014 FA Cup final. Their last three games have all been goalless at half-time and featured a goal in the 90th minute or later.

Hull are enjoying a rich vein of form. Their tally of seven points equals their best start after four games of a top-flight season, first set in 2008-09. A win against Arsenal would give them their most points after five matches.

Mike Phelan on Arsenal: "It will be a tough game against a top team full of excellent players. But the spotlight will be on Arsenal. We’ve conducted ourselves really well so far and we’ll be up for this challenge."

Hull have only taken one point from seven Premier League games against Arsenal since beating the Gunners in September 2008.

Hull caretaker Mike Phelan on his situation: "I've made it pretty clear I want to be in charge of this group of players. I think the players have made it quite clear too... But I'm sure things will get resolved. They probably will do, one way or another. We haven't fallen out or done anything drastic, we're taking it day by day and hopefully another week doesn't go by without it being resolved....

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "[On Granit Xhaka failing so far to break into the first XI] Xhaka is adapting to the pace of the English game... but he will play games. I think he will have a huge impact."

Petr Cech will be back in goal for Arsenal and Theo Walcott also starts, having missed the PSG match this week with a mild knee injury. Olivier Giroud misses the match with a sore toe (yes, really) while Aaron Ramsey is out having failed to recover from his hamstring issue. Danny Welbeck, Per Mertesacker and Cal Jenkinson are on the long-term injury list.

Hull are in the grip of an injury crisis with six squad members out, but they have no new problems since the last match against Burnley. Michael Dawson and Brian Lenihan are both still several weeks away from returning.
