It doesn’t look like Sterling got a touch on that opening goal with the benefit of the action replay. Still impossible to tell but City worthy of this advantage.

Approaching half time and even at this early stage, City well on their way. The defending champions don’t want this to get embarrassing.

GOAL CITY! Jesus sends Schmeichel the wrong way and City have a second. Cool as you like.

PENALTY! Benalouane dives in on sane and it’s clear cut this time. Clumsy challenge, no doubt about it.

City force another corner. In it comes from Sane, headed well clear. The hosts well on top now and Leicester need to regroup quickly.

Tall order for Leicester now and Craig Shakespeare still disputing the decision to award the goal. City ramping up the pressure and hunting a second.

Regardless, City are ahead on the scoreboard. Fernandinho goes down in the box under a challenge from Fuchs but would have been a harsh one.

Leicester could have a point. Sterling didn’t need to touch it as he swung a boot at it. Did he touch it? Hard to see. He was certainly offside.

GOAL CITY! And David Silva opens the scoring. It wasn’t the cleanest connection from Silva and takes the slightest deflection to take it past Schmeichel. There’s a bit of confusion as to whether it should stand… was Sterling in an offside position getting a touch?

CHANCE! Sterling escapes Chilwell and cuts is across and Mahrez does really well to scoop the ball away with Sane lurking. Clichy then fires wide.
