FT: 1-0. Tottenham manage to grind out a deserved victory and keep some semblance of pressure on Chelsea. As for Middlesbrough, they're just one point above the drop zone.

A long ball falls to Negredo and he flicks it over Dier to set up De Roon 12 yards out but he scuffs a volley wide. That was the chance.

Three more minutes for Spurs to survive.

Alli departs and Winks comes on to add a bit more steel to the Spurs midfield.

Fabio cuts in from the left and crosses for Negredo who tries an overhead kick from 16 yards out but despite catching it sweetly, the ball fizzes wide.

Kane plays Alli into a lot of space behind the Boro defences and he tries to return the favour with a cross which is half-cleared and Eriksen's shot on the rebound is deflected wide.

Eriksen and Kane both have opportunities to shoot in the box but they don;t and eventually Boro scramble clear.

Spurs break, but the move gets a little crowded and a heavy touch by Eriksen sees the ball run behind for a goal-kick.

With just the one-goal advantage, Spurs are far from home and hosed in this game. Given the dropped points for Arsenal and Liverpool earlier on, Pochettino's boys will be desperate to wrap up the win.
