Palace tried hard in the second half, but in the end the class and character of Alexis Sanchez was too much for them. Arsenal join Spurs on 37 points but sit sixth, while Palace stay 16th

A lovely ball from Zaha finds McArthur on the by-line, but his cut-back is way too zealous and Arsenal break. Nothing comes of it, but that's probably enough for them.

But then Mcarthur lobs one down the line for Zaham who wins a corner off Chambers ... and it comes to nothing.

Davie Provan gives Sanchez man of the match; can't argue with that. In the meantime, Arsenal force Palace back and Palace can't get the ball down the other end.

Palace have been good these last few minutes and when Bellerin overruns the ball breaking out of defence, Schlupp snaps it away from him and cuts back a cross for Benteke, whose shot is deflected wide.

Xhaka succumbs, replaced by Maitland-Niles.

Excellent ball inside Bellerin from Schlupp, and Zaha is onto it quickly, driving a low cross which is cleared ... and then in the next wave of attack, Zaha gets to the line and his low cross evades Bellerin ... and then in the next wave of attack, Zaha gets to the line and his low cross is blocked.

Cross from the right and Zaha loses Bellerin, but diving at it can only hump a shoulder back the other way.

Milivojevic moves the ball away from Xhaka, who winds up doing the splits and for a moment looks to have hurt a groin, but is back running now.

On this showing, Palace have more than enough to stay up. They're solid enough at the back, have enterprise in midfield, and attacking threat.

Fosu-Mensah replaces Kelly.

Arsenal are loving this, Sanchez drilling a low, backspun pass fro left to right seeking Bellerin, who willingly screeches after it but can't quite catch up.

Lacazette did not looks happy to be withdrawn, but he'll be needed in the next game.

Arsene Wenger reckons this one is safe; Coquelin comes on, replacing Lacazette.
