Good evening and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE text commentary of Liverpool versus West Brom in the Premier League. It's a cold, wet and windy night at Anfield where the Reds will be hoping to grab the victory needed to propel them back into the top four after they were leapfrogged by Burnley on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the visitors haven't even scored under new manager Alan Pardew never mind claimed a win and it is no surprise that the Baggies aren't labelled the favourites tonight.

Down at the other end and Nyom delivers a lovely cross but again the Reds can clear effectively, and in fact launch an attack on the break.
It ends with Robertson's first-time shot deflecting behind for a Liverpool corner.

INCHES WIDE!
Firmino should score! Salah's cross goes all the way through to the Brazilian at the back post but he prods the ball just wide.
Had he squared the ball Coutinho would have had a tap-in!
15'
Liverpool are finding it difficult to break down Pardew's 4-5-1 formation. The home supporters may be growing a little agitated.
13'
That spell of possession by the visitors may have settled their nerves a little.
12'
West Brom finally form an attack as they spread the ball to Nyom flank but his cross is easily dealt with by the Liverpool defence.
11'
Can is invited to shoot from 30 yards but his effort is blocked. Liverpool may need to be patient as the visitors are set up in an ultra-defensive formation, as you would expect.
10'
Ten minutes gone and Liverpool have yet to test the visiting defence.
9'
Livermore does terrifically well to wriggle the ball from Salah as he approaches the penalty box and then Firmino commits a foul as he attempts to recover possession.
7'
Robson-Kanu gets between Robertson and the ball, but the Liverpool wideman wins the battle. His cross goes out for a goal-kick, but the referee blows for a late foul anyway.
5'
Liverpool appear to be operating in a 4-4-2 formation, with Coutinho on the left, Mane right, and Salah just off Firmino.

A lovely flick by Firmino finds Wijnaldum who feeds Mane on the right side of the box, but he strayed into an offside position.
That was an early warning to the Baggies, though.

West Brom break forward with McClean providing width on the left. He tries to cut the ball back for Robson, but Klavan intercepts.
In turn, the Reds launch an attack on the counter with Salah leading the charge. However, his cross into the box is also intercepted.

West Brom have won only one game on their travels in the whole of 2017. It would take truly special performance this evening to better the Reds.

KICK-OFF!
The visitors get us underway.
19:55
The players are making their way out onto the pitch meaning kick-off is only moments away. How do you see this one going? Will Liverpool prove too strong or have West Brom got a trick up their sleeve?
19:50
Salah wasn't expected to be starting this evening, with Klopp expressing concerns about the Egyptian's hamstring, but there we are.
Has Pardew got a plan in mind to keep him quiet?
19:45
A victory for Liverpool this evening would take them above the mighty Burnley into fourth, two points behind second-placed Manchester United.
If West Brom can perform a minor miracle and somehow grab a much needed win they would jump as high as 15th position.

STAT
The Reds have scored 63 goals in their 25 competitive games this season. It's their highest tally since 1986-87, when they had 64 goals at this stage.
How on earth will West Brom stop them this evening?!
19:35
West Brom head coach Alan Pardew: "We are in a situation where we need points. We need to fight to get something out of the game.
"The players understand the way I want to play. In the two games I've had as manager I can only think of one small moment where we made an error defensively. But we have to threaten the goal more.
"We are a team that needs to gain momentum. There's still a long way to go and we've got some key players to come back. That gives me heart."

West Brom are winless in 14 league games since August, failing to score in half of those matches (D7, L7). This is their longest run without a top-fight victory since a 16-match streak between February 2006 and August 2008.
