Both players are up, which is encouraging, and they're on the sidelines ready to come back on.

That's a nasty clash of heads as Shaw and Paterson as they both go up for a header. Both players are being examined.

Better from Murphy as he stops and then runs away from Young. The cross isn't as good as you would like but it's encouraging.
Slowly starting to come of age...

Game has slowed down a bit as you would imagine. United are leading and it should be kept in mind this is the same team that had been so poor under Jose Mourinho.
We're expecting an upturn in fortune not a total transformation.

Murphy takes it and it sails over De Gea's bar....

Gunnarsson uses his body well to win a free-kick off Lingard around 25 yards out. This is a great position for the home side.

Well, well, well. That's certainly livened things up.
'Ole, Ole, Ole' now reverberating around the ground.

GOAL! CARDIFF CITY 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED (MARCUS RASHFORD)
Perfect start for United! They win a free-kick in a dangerous area. Paul Pogba stands over but he dummies it and in comes Rashford. His free-kick arrows into the bottom corner. Might have taken a slight deflection but when your luck's in!

Here's Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan handing out presents to supporters.
Can't help but feel they'd all rather three points.

United fans are going to be pretty excited to see this man back in the line-up...

As far as Warnock he thinks Solskjaer is in a pretty good position!
"I think it needed somebody who's been there. He's a legend really.
"Four or five names came to my mind, maybe Steve Bruce or Ryan Giggs. It's a different type of management, with (Mike) Phelan coming back in, Sir Alex's man. With the players they've got, young lads, I bet he can't believe his luck.
"I think it's the best job Ole will have in his life, because you can't lose! Hold the fort until the end of the season, if he does well he'll get a couple of years. If he doesn't, he'll go back to where he was enjoying [managing] anyhow."

And a certain Mr Sanchez has been in the news this week.
We're going to put this one down to a pure misunderstooding.
Here are the United players arriving.
We're not ones to stir the pot but they do seem happier...
Ahead of the match Cardiff have dropped to 17th in the Premier League following Southampton's victory.
However even a heavy defeat today will not see them drop into the relegation zone, so that's a positive.
Elsewhere this could turn out to be a pretty good day for United. Both Manchester City and Chelsea are losing in the 3pm matches, at home to Crystal Palace and Leicester City respectively.
It's not all good news though, Arsenal did win earlier and Liverpool are going to spend Christmas Day top of the Premier League.
Still, can't be greedy.
And don't forget that there is history between Solskjaer and Cardiff as well.
He was in charge the last time they were relegated from the Premier League.

Of course all eyes will be on this man today.
In one of the more remarkable stories of the season former United striker Solskjaer came in "on-loan" from Molde to take charge until the end of the season.
