Maddison was looking for the early run of Vardy in behind the Chelsea defence, but Kepa spotted the idea and came off his line to punch clear the freekick delivery into the box.

Well, well, well. That should light a fire under this match. Chelsea are trailing and they can have no real complaints. They have been poor this afternoon and now have a lot of work to do.

It was a counter by the Foxes, with Maddison slipping in Vardy and the striker made no mistake in firing home at the near post! Kepa had no chance! Well beaten.

It should be noted that Leicester held out for a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge last season, so they have experience of playing Chelsea and getting something for their efforts.

Leicester City deserve a lot of credit for the way they have kept things tight at the back and have limited the number of Chelsea chances. But will they come out and attack themselves in this second half?

Over the bar! Luiz had a good run on the ball as it was slung into the Leicester City box from a corner kick, but he can only send his header over the crossbar. Not troubling Schmeichel.

It must be said that Chelsea were pretty poor in the first half. Hazard hit the bar, but that's the only real opportunity that they were able to create against this stubborn Leicester defence.

The second half is under way! It's still 0-0 between Chelsea and Leicester City.

HALF TIME: Chelsea 0-0 Leicester City. A bit of a nothing first half at Stamford Bridge. Hazard has struck the bar and Leicester have forced Kepa into a flying save. That's about it.

That Leicester City chance a few moments ago seems to have forced Chelsea into opening things up. They recognise that they need to test Schmeichel more often.

Chelsea counter! That was a rapid break from the home side, with Hazard setting up Willian for the shot. But there was no real purchase in the effort and Schmeichel saves.

What a save! That's the first shot on target of the game and what a shot it was! Ndidi struck it with venom from about 25 yards out, but Kepa made the diving stop to prevent it finding the net.

Sarri doesn't look too happy with things down on the touchline. You can hear him yelling at his Chelsea players, who clearly aren't playing in the way the Italian wants them to.

That was a great piece of play from Choudhary, who carried the ball about 30 yards up the pitch all on his own and then drew the foul from Willian. That eases the pressure.

Schmeichel still hasn't had to make a save in this first half. Of course, he has wached Hazard smash a shot off his crossbar, but Chelsea need to test the goalkeeper more.

Hazard is starting to take a grip of this game. He is demanding the ball from his Chelsea teammates and driving it into the Leicester City box as often as he can. Looking dangerous.

That was clumsy from Ricardo right on the edge of his own box, tripping Willian and giving Chelsea the chance to strike a freekick on Schmeichel's goal. This is an opportunity.

However, there is the feeling that Chelsea are getting closer, that they are turning the screw on Leicester City. They are upping the pace and intensity ahead of the break.
