After his wonderful performance in midweek, it's a shame Shaqiri has to make do with a place on the bench this afternoon. Still, it's an opportunity for Lallana to impress in midfield - he has had an awful time of injuries recently.

You would imagine Cardiff will make things difficult for the hosts at the start of this contest. The Reds may have to remain patient. If and when they break the deadlock then the floodgates may well open.

KICK-OFF!
We are underway at Anfield.

Warnock described winning at Anfield as 'virtually impossible', and perhaps the Cardiff manager has a point: Liverpool haven't been lost in front of their fans, in the Premier League, in 18 months. In fact, a visiting team hasn't scored here since February. Do Cardiff stand any chance today?

Cardiff City celebrated their first victory in the top-flight last weekend when they overcame Fulham in a thrilling 4-2 triumph. Strangely, the Bluebirds have a terrific record against the Reds, winning 11 of their last 22 games between the sides.

Mohamed Salah ended his goalscoring drought (if you can call it that) in the wins over Huddersfield and Red Star, while Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were also on the score-sheet in the Champions League triumph, and all three forwards start this afternoon.
Boasting such a quality, fluid front-line, how can you look past Liverpool today?

Neil Warnock on his team's chances at Anfield: "It's virtually impossible for any team in the current game. I think the front three is probably the best in the world.
"We've all got to play at the top of our potential to give them a good game and hope they have an off day.
"It's a special place in football, a remarkable place, but I think we can go there and cause problems."

Klopp: "I'm really looking forward to meeting him [Cardiff boss Neil Warnock] - maybe not in the 90 minutes! He's obviously, vocal-wise, very talented!
"He looks like a character, a very emotional and lively person. I saw the final period of the Championship last year and it was impressive how they did it. They deserved it.
"Cardiff deserve all our respect and they will get it."

There is just the one change for Cardiff, with the injured Harry Arter replaced by Junior Hoilett.

Jurgen Klopp makes three changes to his Liverpool side that thrashed Red Star Belgrade 4-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday. Alberto Moreno, Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana come in for Andrew Robertson, Joe Gomez and Xherdan Shaqiri, all of whom are on the bench.
Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson sit out with minor hamstring issues.
