More chaos around the Newcastle goal. Van Dijk has charged up field and totally messes up a volley. Then Mane backheels the ball through to Robretson and his cross is blocked behind for a corner.

Sustained spell of pressure in and around the Newcastle box somehow ends up with nothing for Liverpool despite an acrobatic effort from Mane.

First change for Liverpool as Fabinho comes on to replace Wijnaldum.

Henderson is back on his feet and tries to get Salah in with a ball over the top. Dubravka is alert to it and comes flying out to head it away.

Slight break in play as Henderson has gone down in the Newcastle box after getting caught late by Fernandez.

It should be 3-0. Woeful pass out from Lascelles and Mane is played through by Shaqiri however in turn he cannot find either Firmino or Salah and Fernandez clears.

That goal has a double benefit to Liverpool. With Manchester City now drawing at Leicester this is an opportunity to not only extend their lead but also improve their goal difference.

Dubravka goes the right way but Salah's penalty is too good as it nestles in the bottom of the net.
