MISS! Pereira swings in a pin-point cross but, with the goal gaping, Lukaku can only glance it wide!

CHANCE! And from the resulting corner, Shaw is played in space on the overlap. He centres it but Rashford and Lukaku get in each other's way and neither can get a strike away.

After a tricky start, Southampton have grown into the game. Valery's cross from deep is headed behind by Young, with De Gea showing some hesitancy. The Saints have a corner. Everyone in red is back to defend the set-piece and they manage to clear.

Thankfully, Gunn is back to his feet and fit to continue. The early injuries have upset United's rhyhtm.

Gunn has been in top form but now there is a concern about the Southampton shot-stopper. Rashford, who is an offside position as he races through on goal, collides with the visiting goalkeeper.

Just had a look at the replay and United have definitely got away with one there. Anywhere else on the pitch and that is a foul.

NO PENALTY! Southampton are appealing for a spot-kick, and they have a strong case. Smalling was clearly pulling Bertrand back with the referee well placed but Stuart Attwell says no foul.

Fred, who was perhaps harshly dropped after a decent performance in midweek, is warming up in case McTominay can't continue.
