That's it, the whistle is blown and Chelsea remain unbeaten in eight games. 3-0 to Chelsea.
GOAL! And a bad afternoon for Southampton full stop as Morata gives them their third from a Hazard cross!
Four minutes of added time are announced moments after Danny Ings is booked for a dodgy challenge on Kovacic. Moments after that, the Southampton man squanders another opprtunity to score. Not a great afternoon.
Ryan Betrand takes a free kick for Southampton just outside the 18-yard box. The ball meets the defensive wall, and with just three minutes left, there might not be another opportunity to get on the score sheet today.
The Chelsea keeper is forceed to look lively again as Ings strikes from a Romeu cross. It's not exactly the most challenging, but it's fair to say he's earned his keep, today.
Another Chelsea substitution as Mateo Kovacic comes on for Ross Barkley.
Moments later Chelsea break and Morata is looking for his opportunity but it's saved.
OOF! Redmond gets his chance from just outside the 18-yard box and he strikes, but the keeper gets his hand to it and sends it just over the bar. Close for Southampton.
And Southampton are making a substitution too - a much needed noe, to be fair. It looks like Shane Long will come on for Manolo Gabbiadini.
Chelsea ramp it back up but Southampton do well to force Hazard wide and make a swift counter-attack.
WiIlian now comes off and Pedro takes his place on the pitch for Chelsea.
Chelsea have actually had fewer shots on target so far, today - three to Southampton's four.
There's going to be a substitution now and Olivier Giroud will be replaced by Alvaro Morrata.
Romeu earns himself a yellow card for barging a rampant Hazard down with his hip.
GOAL! Ross Barkley taps in an acrobatic cross by Olivier Giroud to take the visitors 2-0 up.
Mario Lemina brings down Barkleyand is given a yellow card for his troubles.
Danny Ings gets his second opportunity to score for Southampton and it's a good strike, but too easily savid by the Chelsea stopper.
Southampton are looking for a way back into this and apply some pressure on the visitors at last. Hojlbjerg picks out Betrand who slips in on the far side of the goal, but he plays it over the bar. The look on his face says it all.
That's the whistle and we're back fro the second half which starts 1-0 to Chelsea and there's a halftime change for Southampton as Oriol Romeu comes on for Bednarek.
Just before that free kick was taken, Bertrand fell foul of the ref who booked him after he complained about the ball placement. Bt that's it, halftime and the home side are 1-0 down to Chelsea.
Giroud brings down Bertrand on the edge of the Chelsea box and it'll be a free kick on the stroke of halftime. It's not a problem and the whistle is blown promptly after they lose possession.
One minute of added time to be played.
Chelsea win their 10th corner. Southampton have been extremely lucky to have conceded just the one goal in this half.
Kante wants in on the action but he deliberates for a little too long on the edge of the goal. He'll have another crack please from a more central position, but the Southampton area is a sea of red. Not this time.
Gabbiadini gets the ball again and runs at the Chelsea box. He takes his shot from long range - perhaps a tad ambitious and certaibly it ultimately amounts to nothing, but it's the first time Southampton have looked dangerous in the last 15 minutes or so.
Giroud looks to inflict more pain on Southampton and again it's Hoedt with the clearance.
Southampton seem shaken by conceding the goal and Chelsea look like they're almost taking the mickey out of them, now.
GOAL! A great challenge by Ross Barkley is played forward to Eden Hazard who waits on the edge of the box and finds the net with ease.
Hoedt puts Southampton well in the danger zone as he takes Giroud down in the box - a little later than he might have. Nonetheless, he escapes a penalty.
A howler by Danny Ings who spoons the ball well over the bar from close range, after a decent cross by Bertrand. But Southampton looking more confident now.
These two teams are just a completely different class from one another. Watching Southampton in the midfield feels positively awkward, compared to Chelsea.
CHANCE! Gabbiadini strikes - and a powerful strike it seems too, but it is saved by Arrizabalaga.
Southampton gain possession and a period of approximately four seconds of pressure ensues. The crowd goes wild.
Hoedt and McCarthy really are the only Southampton players doing anything, today. But it's yet another corner. That goal is coming, surely?
Hoedt again clears it, but it falls back into Chelsea possession quickly and Alonso wins them ANOTHER CORNER.
There's going to be another corner for Chelsea now, again, taken by WIllian.
There's clearly only so long Southampton can keep the visitors at bay - they need to be more aggressive.
Luiz plays a long ball forward but he's a bit too forward for Willian and McCarthy makes the catch.
Southampton are densely packed in the box, defending deeply which one suspects they feel is the only way they can escape today's match unharmed, but it's very passive.
Chelsea are looking relentless thus far, pressing and pressing, and Southampton are giving them a fair old bit of space in the midfield. It could be a log afternoon for the home side.
A second corner from Willian but Hoedt gets to it in time.
Eden Hazard gets to the ball and he's building pace as Bednarek takes him down to stop him before he can inflict the usual damage.
Chelsea win a corner, taken by Willian who looks to the far post but it's a decent save by McCarthy who fists it away.
Mark Hughes already looks miffed, and fair enough - Chelsea are out of the traps first with some crisp passing culmiating in a Kante cross to Azpilicueta, which is straight into the arms of McCarthy.
And we're off!
The guys are heading onto the pitch now and Chelsea looked pretty pumped.
Not long now...
Over at Southampton, things have been less inspiring. Mark Hughes said earlier this week: "Our home form is going to be a big factor in determinging what sort of season we have." And that home form really isn't great at the minute, having failed to beat Burnley, Leicester and Brighton at St Mary's.
He's on the bench today but you may have heard Cesc Fabregas waxing lyrical to the press about new manager Maurizio Sarri, this week. He said of the Chelsea gaffer: "I feel sensations under Sarri that I never thought I would feel again."
Meanwhile, I would go as far as to say Southampton are at risk this season. They go into their eighth game with just one win behind them and only five points. They are the mirror image, almost, of Chelsea at the bottom of the table - just two points off the drop zone.
Chelsea go into today's match unbeaten in the league thus far this season, sitting in fourth place on the table and just two points behind table toppers Man City.
The visitors, enojying a rather better seadson start make just one change as Ross Barkley replaces Mateo Kovacic.
Struggling Southampton make three changes from their last league match - a rather disappointing 2-0 defeat by Wolves. So Mark Hughes brings on Maya Yoshida, Manolo Gabbiadini and Jan Bednarek as Jannik Vestergaard and Charlie Austin drop to the bench and Mohamed Elyounoussi slips out of today's squad.
