Some words from Mr Ancelotti on the return of Andre Gomes. Could he return from that horrific injury sustained at home to Spurs in early November as a sub today? We will see.

Alex Iwobi spoke to Everton's official website about taking on his old club: “Arsenal is where I grew up and I want to show them what they produced was good and what they are missing. I am feeling very sharp, very good in myself and confident: excited and always wanting to get on the ball. I would like to go and prove a point – but I want to prove a point whoever I am playing."

Mikel Arteta has been full of praise for Bukayo Saka recently - but the 18-year-old must make do with a place on the bench today. Arteta has suggested physical issues and the need for fresh legs are behind the changes for this clash. Here's what he previously had to say on Saka, whose nine assists in all competitions this season are more than any other Arsenal player: "He's a great kid and he's very brave. He makes big decisions in the final third, he doesn't hide and he's got the vision and the ability to execute in spaces that are really tight, which is a big gift."

Dani Ceballos spoke to Arsenal.com ahead of the contest: We have to be realistic. We’re a long way off the Premier League leaders but our aim is to take it game by game and improve. We’ve got a new coach and we’re still alive in three competitions – the FA Cup and the Europa League too. I think we need to keep gelling and focus on playing attractive football that the fans enjoy. But the most important thing is to win and, as you’ve learned from my story, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get the three points."

Carlo Ancelotti: "We have to be focused on Arsenal. Then there are very important games after. There's (Man) United, Chelsea, Liverpool. After these four games, we can see what is going on for Europe. This is a really important game against a strong team, away, but we have to have confidence to do our best and try to win."

There are also plenty of changes for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta makes six from the 1-0 Europa League success at Olympiakos. Hector Bellerin, Sead Kolasinac, Dani Ceballos, Mesut Ozil, Nicolas Pepe and Eddie Nketiah all come in. Interestingly, Bukayo Saka, who has been earning rave reviews, is dropped to the bench.
