A slow start to the half, but then McGinn curls in for Samatta, who runs through Harry Maguire's arm, then flings himself at a header he was never making. He wants a penalty, but Maguire expertly removed his arm at just the right time

Off we go again.

Villa have played ok but this game is almost definitely over because United have a serious situation in attack.

OH MY ABSOLUTE DAYS! MASON GREENWOOD IS A GOALSCORING GENIUS! Aston Villa 0-2 Manchester United (Greenwood) Again United counter and Martial does brilliantly to hold it up before sliding into the stride of Fernandes who finds Greenwood, heading towards goal at inside right. He looks ready to attack the box, but instead goes square, back to Martial. Men go with the ball, so when it comes back to Greenwood, he's free, so he takes a touch, and even though he outside the box, you know he's going to score ... and he does, absolutely walloping low inside the near post. This is getting silly now; we are in the presence of greatness.

Matic clobbers Grealish and is booked, but Grealish then curls the free-kick beyond everyone, because no one attacks the far post. Villa looks like they can find joy putting the ball in there, behind Wan-Bissaka.

Villa win a corner and when Maguire heads clear United steam off on the counter. Greenwood carries it well then finds Fernandes, whose first touch is good but whose second is an overhit cross that Reina grabs easily.

There'll be four added minutes.

Suddenly United inject some pace, Martial finding Shaw around the back, and he dinks a fine cross for Fernandes to attack. It must be! But it isn't! He heads hard, but onto the top of the bar!

Long period of united possession, but not one that threatens - as soon as they play a difficult pass, Matic can't find Wan-Bissaka.
43'
There's been no snap in United's passing so far. If they play like this against Southampton on Monday, they might lose.

I meant to mention it at the time, but I forgot so I'm mentioning it now: Bruno Fernandes should take every Man United penalty. he's miles better at them than all the other candidates.

Wan-Bissaka has had a dodgy start to this game, and he forces Smatta down the line away from goal, then chops him down for no reason. He's booked, but Villa waste the free-kick.

Rashford weaves into the penalty box and Luiz knocks him over. I think that's very close to a penalty, but Jon Moss doesn't fancy this one.

Well there's something you don't see often! Greenwood takes the ball in the number 9 position, just outside the box, and sways into space between two men; when you see a clear shooting lane, you expect him to score, but he punches just too close to Reina. That was almost game over.

Martial pulls left and runs and Konsa, opening up his favourite shooting angle, but he doesn't get hold of his effort, curling a tame one straight at Reina.

United haven't played very much better since scoring, but Villa have had a lot less of the ball.
34'
McGinn goes off and comes back on.
33'
Oh dear - McGinn has gone down, off the ball. He gets some treatment.

Sky keep showing the penalty because it was an odd one, but ultimately Hause went into Fernandes, inside the box, and got nowhere near the ball. He got trodden on, yes, but he'd already committed the foul by then and when Bruno jumped there was no leg underneath him.
29'
Hause's still complaining, but he's not got a leg to get stood on. He didn't mean to, but he went through the man because the man tricked him.
