That's one way of looking at it...

Salah motors in from the right, but sees his curler arc a few yards wide of the far post.

A Brighton corner is only cleared as far as Stephens, who wastes little time in letting fly with a long range shot that dips wide.

A defeat here would see Brighton lose consecutive Premier League home games for just the second time (they also lost three in a row between March and April 2019).

At the other end, Maupay looks to pull the trigger just inside the area, but sees his attempt well blocked.

Firmino flicks on a cross from the right, but the Ox can't stretch enough to get on the end of it.

Brighton have been knocking on the door in the last 10 minutes or so, but Liverpool spring forward and almost make it three. The Ox threads a pass into the feet of Firmino in the area, but he is crowded out as he tries to stab an effort towards goal.

As it stands, Liverpool will maintain a 23-point lead at the top of the table. The biggest winning points margin in Premier League history is the 19 points set by Aston Villa in 1896-97 (converted to 3 points for a win) and by Manchester City in 2017-18.
28'
Trossard puts on the afterburners to surge past two and get to the left byline. Maupay gets on the end of his cross, but can't force it past Alisson. Keita mops up the rebound.
26'
Trossard provides a crisp finish to a low ball in from Gross, but the flag is up for offside in the build up.

Drinks break. Potter is surely using this time to try and remedy some problems at the back.

STAT: Brighton’s last win over Liverpool came in March 1982 when Andy Ritchie netted the only goal of the game at Anfield.

BLOCK! The hosts almost reduce the arrears. Gross springs free on the left of the area. His cut back is only half stopped by Wijanldum. Trossard's eyes light up, but his goal-bound shot is brilliantly blocked by Williams.
