Chelsea are getting closer. They work it to Pedro on the right, he lets fly but his shot is blocked by Burn.

Mount has been a real livewire so far, popping up across midfield with those menacing dangerous drives.

If Abraham had got anything on the cross then Chelsea would have been celebrating.

Off the post! How did that not go in? Mount swings a free-kick in from the left, Abraham doesn't make the connection with his header and the delivery ends up smacking the post!

Chelsea are caught in possession and are almost punished. The ball is worked to Maupay on the right side of the penalty area, he squares it across the middle but the hosts scoop it clear.

That's rather impatient from Willian, though. Chelsea move the ball quickly, moving it to the left. Willian cuts inside, creating the angle for a shot, but he screws his effort well wide.

More promising football from Chelsea's youngsters. Mount races away from his marker before picking out Abraham with a low cross. His first touch is good, his second, a wild shot high into the stands, is not.

Shot! Mount's corner finds its way to Jorginho on the edge of the penalty area but he doesn't get the contact he would have wanted and Brighton breathe a sigh of relief as the ball goes wide.

No penalty! Chelsea have started brightly and now they have a penalty appeal turned away. Mount was running at speed when he took a tumble, but replays show there wasn't any contact and it was outside the box.

Kick-off! Brighton get the ball rolling.

Chelsea may be 11th, but there's still a sense of excitement around Stamford Bridge, and they could move as high as third today with a win. Brighton are 15th, two points behind the Blues, and a victory could take them to seventh.

Head-to-head: Brighton have lost all eight league meetings with Chelsea (four in the second tier and four in the Premier League).

Potter: "We are creating chances and are about where I expect us to be after six matches. But you get what you get and there is no point in feeling sorry for yourself. I am confident with the quality we have that it will turn around."

Lampard: "The fact we haven't won at home [in the league] is something we want to correct. We need a similar performance to Liverpool. If we get that level then I expect we can do okay. We have had a run of home games, but we have to respect Brighton."
