Good evening and welcome to live coverage of Chelsea versus Manchester United in the Premier League’s Monday night fixture from Stamford Bridge. Teams to follow shortly.

Almost a horrendous mistake by Matic, who gifts Kovacic the ball on the edge and only a despairing tackle from Bailly diverts the ball out for a corner as Kovacic bursts into the area.

Kovacic wins a corner as his low cross clips Matic and runs behind. It's whipped into the United area but Maguire clears comfortably.

James leads a good break for United. He lays it to Williams on the left, but his cross is cut out and put behind for a corner.

A lovely move from Chelsea as Azpilicueta plays a one-two and loops around Wan-Bissaka. His cross into the middle is dangerous but Shaw is in bravely to clear.

United win a corner and some respite. Fred lumps it to the front post but Chelsea clear.

CHANCE! Chelsea should be ahead. A lovely through pass releases Mount into the United area on the left. He cuts it back to Batshuayi in the centre, who screws his shot wide from eight yards out.

CHANCE! Christensen works a crossing chance for Chelsea on the right. The cut back finds Batshauyi in space on the six-yard box but it's just behind him and he can't connect with his volley properly, as it balloons in the air off his heel and United clear.

Almost another nightmare moment from Maguire, as he diverts a cross from Rudiger just wide of his own goal with a header.

Maguire and Batshuayi have clashed on the touchline after the former is bundled over by the latter. Maguire appears to have a little kick out at Batshuayi afterwards, right in front of the Chelsea bench who are up in arms. It's VAR reviewed and there's no further action, but that was ill-advised to say the least from Maguire.

Chelsea break dangerously after Fred coughs the ball up deep in their half. Pedro has a diagonal charge at the heart of United and appears to be fouled as he pokes the ball through Fred's legs, but no foul is called.

Pedro shows up Wan-Bissaka on the byline, muscling him off a loose ball to gain possession. He fires a low cross into the area but Maguire clears.

Livelier stuff from Manchester United as Martial plays a nice reverse ball to James on the left wing for United. He gets to the edge of the area but his cross is too far ahead of everyone and drifts out for a goal kick.

Mount replaces Kante for Chelsea.

Chance for United as Fred and Fernandes exchange passes on the edge of the Chelsea area. Fred shoots from the edge, but it's deflected wide for a corner.

A lull here as Kante has gone down; he's struggling and looks like he'll come off. A big blow for the home side.

Another chance for Chelsea as Willian gets one on one with Williams on the right and cuts inside him. Willian then unloads for the top corner from 20 yards, but it's high, wide and handsome.

A brief, half-chance for United as Maguire gets a free header at the back post in the Chelsea area, but it goes across the six-yard box without locating a colleague.

CLOSE! Kovacic, who has started well, floats a lovely ball across the edge of the United area to James. He uses his chest to move it to the side of Williams, and drills a low half-volley inches wide of the far post.

A few nervous touches from Bailly so far; he almost sells De Gea short with a back pass but the goalkeeper gets there just ahead of Batshuayi to clear.

Scrappy stuff so far, with both teams giving the ball away regularly.
