Watford are looking for their first win at Stamford Bridge since a thumping 5-1 triumph on the first bank holiday Monday in May 1986, the very last game of the First Division season before the World Cup in Mexico. Their 21-year old defender David Bardsley came off the bench to bag two of the goals. It was a nightmare debut for Chelsea’s 17-year old goalkeeper Les Fridge, who never played for the club again.

Watford are mired in trouble right now. They were the first team to beat the now-champions Liverpool in the league this season, with a 3-0 victory at Vicarage Road in February. It’s their only win in their last ten though, which is completed by three draws and six defeats. Norwich look gone already, and Watford are one of four teams at the bottom battling to avoid the final two relegation places.
    19:30
Frank Lampard was appointed as Chelsea manager exactly one year ago. He’s got a decent season so far out of his young team, with Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner already recruited to join when it’s over. Up until a 3-2 defeat at West Ham on Wednesday, they had won all their games since football resumed. After Manchester United’s win earlier today, they have slipped to fifth; as things stand, with Manchester City banned from the Champions League next year, Chelsea are now in a four-way fight with Leicester City, United and Wolves for three qualifying places.
    19:25
There are three changes for Watford tonight. Craig Cathcart, Adam Masina and Roberto Pereyra all drop to the bench and in come Christian Kabasele, Adrian Mariappa and Nathaniel Chalobah.
    19:20
Chelsea make four changes after their defeat at West Ham on Wednesday. Kurt Zouma, Reece James, Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud all return to the side in place of Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger, Mateo Kovacic and Tammy Abraham.
