City have been battling an internal storm after Uefa's jaw-dropping announcement last Friday night detailing why they are sanctioning a two-year European ban on the club, but tonight Pep Guardiola will be focused firmly on garnering three league points.

Brilliant midfield work by Rice as he dispossesses De Bruyne, but the England international is left frustrated by a lack of support and movement from his team so proceeds to hammer the ball down the line for a City throw-in.

Any question that City would be lacking motivation after Uefa's announcement has already been answered: they're swarming all over West Ham, pressing high up the pitch and generally look dangerous.

Close! City form another encouraging attacking move, Mendy and De Bruyne linking up to set up Aguero, who tries an improvised shot with the outside of the boot but doesn't get enough curl on the ball to trouble Fabianski.

Chance! David Silva threads the eye of a needle to unlock the West Ham defence and release Jesus. The Brazilian over complicates things by attempting to round the goalkeeper Fabianski which allows Frederick to nip in and concede the corner.

Mendy has been involved plenty in the early stages. And boy have City missed his presence down that left flank.

Rice pounces on a loose ball in midfield and lifts one over the top for Antonio to chase only for the makeshift forward to commit a foul. He was a little too keen.
