- 1st Half
KICK OFF! Chelsea get us underway.
STAT: Chelsea have won 82 per cent of their Premier League home games against newly-promoted clubs.
Bielsa on relishing the challenge of facing the PL big guns: "Always, to play against those who are better and those who are better than us. It’s a challenge for whoever has to compete and it's a challenge that they enjoy for those who have to compete."
Giroud spoke to Chelsea’s official site about his future: "I had a conversation with (Didier) Deschamps (France coach) and he said if the situation stayed like that, I will have to take a decision in January. I am pretty sure I can get some more game time and stay at Chelsea because that is what I want. I want to win trophies with Chelsea so basically that's it.”
Up to speed on the latest from the continent? Today's Euro Papers suggest the pressure is all on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, though the Norwegian just got another big result following a bad one with a 3-1 win at West Ham.
Lampard on Bamford, who had to leave Chelsea following a lack of opportunities in the first-team as a youngster: “Obviously it didn't quite work out for him - that's probably more due to the competition he faced during that period up front for us. I think he should be proud of the way his career has gone; to make different moves and come back and be one of the leading scorers in the Premier League, in a very good Leeds team.”
Lampard says his ‘Spygate’ row with Marcelo Bielsa is in the past. Bielsa was fined for sending a member of staff to watch Lampard's Derby side train last January. Lampard said: “I'm certainly not going to dwell on it going into this game. I'd rather dwell on the respect I have for him as a coach.” He added: “I go up against him as a team in great form. I just see the football side of it now.”
Leeds stick with the same team that won 1-0 at Everton, which means Patrick Bamford leads the line against his former club.
No major surprise to see Olivier Giroud keeping his place after his four-goal salvo in the Champions League victory over Sevilla. The French forward, Edouard Mendy and Kai Havertz are the only three survivors from that win as Frank Lampard rings the changes.
