Full Time

Sheffield United will feel hard done by but they only have themselves to blame really. They had some great chances to score but could not do so and remain perilous at the foot of the table.

West Ham skipper Mark Noble comes on for Bowen who has played well for the Hammers today.

They are huffing and puffing the Blades but they do not look like breaking the deadlock.

West Ham having all the possession now, Rice tries to play in Mauaku but they are on different wavelengths.

Lanzini on for Fornals and Lundstam is on for Basham.

The bar is struck again! Brewster plays a lovely cross-field ball to put McBurnie through but though he strikes the ball well, and has Fabianski beaten, it comes back off the bar.

So close from Rice! He scored a header for England and nearly did here as he met Cresswell's corner at the near post but his effort smacked against the bar.

What a chance for Haller. Superb thirty yard run from Rice and then a fine slide across the six-yard box from Masuaki but Haller did not angle his foot correctly and the ball just rebounded out for a goal kick.

McGoldrick turns well on the edge of the box to give himself room to shoot but it flies a yard over the bar.

A West Ham corner falls to Rice eight yards out but though he turns and shoots sharply he cannot replicate his goalscoring exploits in midweek and Ramdale gathers without stretching himself.

Brewster comes on for Norwood for the hosts.

McGoldrick bundles his way past Cresswell but is adjudged to have pulled him back as he entered the penalty area.

Ampadu limps off to be replaced by Robinson.

Bowen not far away from dribbling through the Sheffield United defence after Fornals set him up on the edge of the box.

Bowen dribbled to the edge of the box where Fornals' attempted shot was blocked. The ball then rolled to the German striker whose shot was a howitzer. Ramsdale did get a hand to the ball but could not divert its path enough and it flew into the net.

GOAL! That is a great hit from Haller. Ramsdale had no chance.

Ramsdale smothers well after Haller brings down Rice's lobbed ball in the box.

Fleck cleverly tries to find McBurnie in the area but the Scottish striker doesn't react quickly enough.

Play opens up for McGoldrick who shoots from 25 yards pretty firmly but Fabianski is right behind it.

West Ham get us back underway...

Half Time

The referee blows his whistle for the interval. Both sides had chances to break the deadlock but we're still level.

Bowen with a fine turn just inside the penalty area leaves Ampadu on the floor but Egan blocks his low shot.

Basham does put in a good ball from the right flank, on this occasion McBurnie's outstretched leg just can't make contact with his cross.

So close! Egan won the corner and McGoldrick flicked on hitting the foot of the post. Berge then looked to turn home but was in an offside position.

McBurnie generates real power from Basham's outswinging cross but Fabianski flew to his left and got strong contact on the ball to power away from danger.

West Ham are taking control of the game now though the Blades defence appear fairly comfortable.

What a chance for Soucek! Fornals' cross from the left flank was deftly headed by Haller over the Blades defence but when the ball came down on the six-yard box Soucek skewed wide of the target.

Soucek very late on Egan, but the referee lets him off with a little talking to.

Good stop from Ramsdale diving to his right as Coufal sidefoots towards the corner after being set up by Bowen.

Great chance for McBurnie, Baldock squares the ball to him just inside the penalty area and the ball sits up nicely for him but on the half-volley he shoots centrally and Fabianski who parries the ball away above his head.

Bowen has a shot at goal after a corner blocked by Ampadu.

Bowen just can't divert Bowen's long throw-in towards Soucek who was free in the area.

Masuaku and Fornals combining well on the left flank and Basham blocks an attempted cross from the former.

The game has evened up now with West Ham settling into the game.

The pitch has been made to look massive by the way Sheffield United are spreading out in possession. They have had all the play so far.

Basham gets down the right flank but his cross is too far ahead of McBurnie and Fabianski collects comfortably.

Sheffiled United playing with a lot of confidence. The international break perhaps gave them a good opportunity to reset.

Great stop by Fabianski with his legs at the near post after Baldock races on to Egan's 60 yard ball down the inside right channel.

A fine low cross from the left wing from erm...Lowe is just missed by McBurnie on the six-yard box. Nearly a great start for the home side.

The Blades get the game underway...

The match at Craven Cottage has finished now with Fulham going down 3-2 at home to Everton, meaning the Blades can get out of the bottom four with a win by two goals today.

West Ham clear favourites to win this match, generally around the 6/5 mark, with the Blades out at 9/4.

Some good news for Sheffield United, as they look for their second point of the season today, West Ham have not won at Bramall Lane in the top-flight since 1968.

Part of probably West Ham's best strike-partnership of the last 50 years, Frank McAvennie, turns 61 today.

It is a milestone game for Chris Basham at the back for the Blades. What a signing he was on a Bosman free transfer from Blackpool six years ago.

John Fleck returning from injury is a big boost for Chris Wilder's side, he has been out since early October.

Disappointing for the Hammers that Michail Antonio couldn't quite get up for this match. I mean full fitness obviously not out of bed. He should be ready for their next game with Aston Villa on Monday week.

And here is West Ham's starting XI...

This is how Sheffield United are lining up...
