Xherdan Shaqiri, who is on the bench for the visitors tonight: “Obviously Wolves have a very good team for many years now, they made a lot of good investment and bought very good players, experienced players and talented players. They are in a very good way to be going up and up. It’s going to be a tough game, we need a very good performance on the day to grab some points there.”

Pedro Neto on Liverpool’s weakened defence: “I have to be honest, I would rather play against van Dijk or Matip because I like to test myself against the best so I can improve my game. The best thing we can do in football to learn, is to play with the best. I came to this league to play with the best and to play against the best, and to show that I can do my job and play my game whoever is on the pitch.”

Joao Moutinho: “The last few years it hasn’t been possible, this season it hasn’t been possible too, but we’re going to try to win something for Wolves because the fans, the club and we as players deserve something because of how we work, so we’re going to try. I might take one, two, three or four years – I don’t know if I’ll still be here then, but I’m going to support it.”

Nuno Espírito Santo on coming up against Diogo Jota: “He is on his way. He went to a fantastic club, now he is healthy again, playing again, smiling. I wish him all the best. If I see him before the game, I will hug him strong and at the end I will hug him no matter what happens as I have a big admiration for him.”

Meanwhile, Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke insists Liverpool’s boss is not interested in leaving Anfield before his contract ends in 2024. “He's not finished with his work in Liverpool,” Kosicke told German publication Sport1. “There is no back door open because Jurgen still has a three-year contract with the Reds. He made this very clear so that there would be no room for speculation.”
I wrote an opinion piece talking about Klopp's legacy and unfinished business when news broke about Joachim Low last week. Check it out if you haven't already.

A sub plot tonight sees the Molineux return of Diogo Jota. Will he come back to haunt his old team? The Portugal international scored 33 goals in 111 league appearances for Wolves.

Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool being outsiders to win another Champions League title: “Yeah, it would be a dream. So, why not? But we are not in the situation.... Being ready for Wolves is actually the only concern I have in the moment, the only thing I’m really busy with. And using the positives from the last game, yes, that would be very helpful.”

Wolves make just the one change from the stalemate with Aston Villa. Willy Boly replaces Leander Dendoncker. Liverpool are unchanged from the 2-0 Champions League win over RB Leipzig.
