As for Burnley, might this be the season they finally run out of road? They're bottom of the table, and though they've got three, four and five games in hand on Watford, Newcastle and Norwich, who sit three, four and five points above them, they've the oldest team in the league, one of the smallest squads, and have just sold the man who's scored nearly a third of their goals over the last four and half years. It may be that there are three teams worse, but I daresay the teams above them are happier with the points column they are with the games played column.

This is a huge game for both clubs. After playing well for half an hour against Manchester City, Arsenal have had three players sent off and exited three competitions without scoring a goal, which is to say that, for all their recent improvement, they've still beaten no one proper and are struggling for consistency. They desperately need a win today, having been overtaken by Manchester United yesterday and with Chelsea playing Spurs later.
