Rashford has plenty of space on the left flank and he's able to play Shaw through on the overlap.

The full-back cuts it back for the unmarked Pogba who finishes with a controlled first-time right-footed finish.

Maguire, who blocked Rodriguez, is deemed to be in an offside position.

But hold on, is the goal going to count? VAR is checking if Maguire committed a foul as the free-kick was delivered.

It's taking forever and eventually Mike Dean goes over to have a look at the pitchside monitor.

That didn't take long! Varane scores his first goal in the colours of Manchester United to give the visitors the lead!

Fernandes' whipped free-kick delivery from the right flank is sublime, picking out Varane whose headed effort isn't half bad either and it arrows into the corner of Pope's net.

Fernandes plays a nice give-and-go with Sancho but his deflected cross is intercepted by Peters. United keep the move alive, Rashford tries his luck from a tight angle but it's a comfortable for Burnley goalkeeper Pope, who pushes it behind for another corner.

Burnley take a quick free-kick, with the ball played down the left flank finding the run of Cornet. It's a clever move, but his cross fails to pick out a team mate and in any case the offside flag is raised.

United win a corner, which Burnley can only partially clear. It's whipped back into the middle, Varane heads it on but in attempt to meet it Cavani commits the foul.

Pogba, starting his first Premier League match of 2022, tries to tease a cross into the box, searching for the run of Cavani, but Peters intervenes.

Man Utd, in their blue away strip, get us underway at Turf Moor after the players take the knee.
