The Blues are hoping to make it eight straight victories in all competitions to consolidate their place at the top of the league. They take on a struggling Burnley side in the bottom three. Save! Pope has been a very busy man in the opening nine minutes, and he's required once more. Chelsea have another corner, Jorginho wriggles free and his smart header is pushed clear by the Burnley goalkeeper. Moments later, Rudiger heads over the bar. So many chances for the Blues!

Christensen should score! From the resulting corner, the Dane climbs highest but glances his header just wide of the far post he was searching for!

Chelsea target Burnley's left once more as James gets forward to receive a pass on the edge of the penalty area. His shot is deflected behind for a corner.

Brilliant save! Burnley are almost undone on the counter-attack - but Pope comes to the rescue! Hudson-Odoi, on the weekend of his 21st birthday, races into the box and rifles a low shot at goal from the right side of the penalty area, but the Burnley goalkeeper keeps out with a strong hand. On the rebound, the Chelsea forward strikes well wide.

Sean Dyche, Burnley boss: "There is a gap between playing teams like ourselves, compared to the super power teams, especially when they are going well, which Chelsea are. Can it be done? Yes, we’ve experienced that in the past and we’ve delivered performances that can win against these teams. But it is tough. We’re concentrating on the mentality. I know people on the outside don’t give you a chance. But our mentality inside gives us a chance, that’s for sure – we’re thinking nothing other than how we can work as a team to get something from the game, that being a win."

It was a home game against Burnley where it all started for Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea boss. Nine months ago, Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso were on the scoresheet as the Blues won 2-0. How have the side progressed since then? "Quite a long way," Tuche told the official Chelsea website. "We looked at the game again [this week] to understand what we did, what we did good, and where we have come from. ‘It was very quick. We had our second match against Burnley with only some days to prepare. Now we know each other much, much better. It was a nice journey so far."

No surprise that Burnley are unchanged from the side that brushed aside Brentford 3-1 last Saturday.

Ross Barkley is handed his first start in the Chelsea midfield for the first time in well over a year. He is one of four changes. N'Golo Kante is a surprise inclusion having only recovered from injury, while wing-backs Reece James and Ben Chilwell also feature.
