Alonso gets behind Wan Bissaka but he recovers to prevent a big opening for the Blues.

Hudson-Odoi runs down the left and then pulls back to Ziyech on the corner of the penalty area but his curling effort is over the bar.

Fine cross from Alonso on the left flank but no one is in the centre to take advantage

De Gea comes out of goal to clear to stop Werner running through on goal.

United struggling to get the ball out of their half and Matic gives away a dangerous free kick 25 yards from goal on the right flank.

Wan-Bissaka and Lindelof get in the way of each other on the right hand side of the United penalty box and it takes a fine save from De Gea to deny Hudson-Odoi. Werner wonders why he didn't square the ball for a tap in.

Hudson-Odoi finds Ziyech in the box with Bailly out of position but his shot on the turn is weak and easily saved.

Chelsea get the game underway...

We're just about ready to go now. What a task for United this is. He is not at the Bridge but it does feel like a Rangnick type of strikeforce with willing chasers in Rashford and Sancho.

Chelsea are around the 1/2 mark to win this afternoon, Manchester United at a non-too generous 11/2, while thr draw is 3/1.

As for the Blues, the bulk of the side who performed so well against Juventus remain in the side, but Alonso comes in for the unfortunate Chilwell and Kante is replaced by Loftus-Cheek. Ziyech, Werner and Hudson-Odoi are in atack.

A defensive minded 4-3-3 for United then, albeit with two non-regulars in the back four in Bailly and Telles and Bruno Fernandes behind Rashford and Sancho in attack.
